Welcome to the Manitoba Occupational Health Nurses Interest Group website.
Manitoba’s occupational health nurses are individually and jointly dedicated to the prevention of occupational illness and injury and promotion and maintenance of the health of workers in all occupations.  Occupational health nursing is a specialty within the broader profession of nursing and requires special skills and knowledge in the fields of occupational health and safety education, counseling, environmental health, rehabilitation, human resources and ergonomics.  The Occupational Health Nurse acts as the liaison between the workplace and the community in issues related to occupational illnesses and injuries.

 AGM results
Thank you for all who attended the AGM on Friday May 26th. Great to have a wonderful and enthusiastic member turn out. As a result of voting the following changes have been made:
The positions of Treasurer and Membership Coordinator are now combined under Geoffrey Thompson. BIG THANKS to Eleanor Percy who has carried this position for many many years.
The positions of President and COHNA Director are now split. Heather Temple remains President and the new COHNA Director for Manitoba is Ashley Kushnir. She will be working with a wonderful passionate board representing our opinions and needs to the Board.
The Secretary position is also filled by Emilie Campbell for which we are very grateful.
It is great to see new nurses becoming involved as we grow our organization and representation of occupational health nursing in Manitoba!
